Professor Dimitri Christakis,Chair of the Global Breastfeeding Initiative and the Excellence in Paediatrics (EiP) Institute, comments on a new landmark publication in JAMA Pediatrics: Researchers at Harvard Medical School show for the first time a causal relationship between breastfeeding duration and the IQ level at the ages of 3 and 7. One year of breastfeeding can increase the IQ at the age of 7 by approximately 4 points.
